RateHawk.com, an online B2B hotel booking tool for the travel industry, reported its commercial results for the fourth quarter, ending December 31, 2019, and provided its 2020 outlook.

UK Performance

The total gross booking value in the UK doubled compared to Q3 2019, and the total number of bookings made by the UK partners increased by 80% compared to the third quarter. The number of partners in the UK increased 25% by the end of Q4 2019, and by the end of the year, more than 800 UK travel professionals had been using and benefiting from the platform. The total number of RateHawk partners globally has reached 15,000 from over 100 countries. 

The top domestic destinations in terms of bookings, made by UK travel partners, in Q4 2019 were London, Manchester, and Liverpool. The leading choices for outbound trips were Saudi Arabia (Mecca, Medina), the USA (Las Vegas, New York), Germany (Munich, Berlin), the UAE (Dubai), Russia (Moscow), Italy (Rome, Venice), France (Paris), Spain (Barcelona, Madrid), Turkey (Istanbul). 

The preferred accommodation category booked in Q4 were 4-star hotels (44% of total Q4 bookings). This was followed by  5-star hotels (28%), and then by 3-star hotels (20%).

RateHawk officially launched in the UK in 2018. Today it provides the UK travel industry with in-house, multilingual customer support teams and a number of processing currencies, which include Sterling. 

RateHawk is now available in 14 languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Greek, Serbian, and Romanian.

Spain Performance

The total gross booking value in Spain increased by 48% compared to Q3 2019. The number of partners in Spain more than doubled by the end of Q4 2019 exceeding the quarterly target, and the total number of bookings made by Spanish partners increased 38% compared to the third quarter. By the end of 2019 more than 600 Spanish travel professionals had been using and benefiting from the platform. The total number of RateHawk’s partners amounts to 15,000 travel professionals from over 100 countries. 

The top domestic destinations in terms of bookings made by Spanish travel professionals in Q4 2019 were Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia. The leading choices for outbound trips in Q4 2019 were Italy (Milan, Rome, Venice), France (Paris, Lyon, Nice), the UK (London), Portugal (Porto, Lisbon), the USA (New York), Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto), Germany (Berlin), Austria (Vienna), Belgium (Brussels). 

The preferred accommodation categories booked by Spanish travel professionals in Q4 were 4-star hotels (52% of total Q4 bookings) and 3-star hotels (33%).

RateHawk’s Iberian team has entered 2020 strengthened by 2 sales managers (Ana Díaz, Carlos Tamarit) as well as 2 account managers (Beatriz Colón, Celeste Maestro), and a senior business development manager in Portugal (Victor Magalhães), who have joined Davide Amaro, head of business development in Iberia, and Samia Lahlou, head of business development in Spain.

RateHawk officially launched in Spain in 2019. Today it provides Spanish travel professionals with a fully localized product as well as inhouse Spanish-speaking support.

France Performance

The total gross booking value in France increased by 66% compared to Q3 2019. The number of partners in France increased by 20% by the end of Q4 2019, and the total number of bookings made by French partners increased 47% compared to the third quarter. By the end of 2019 more than 300 French travel professionals had been using and benefiting from the platform. The total number of RateHawk’s partners amounts to 15,000 travel professionals from over 100 countries. 

The top domestic destinations in terms of bookings made by French travel professionals in Q4 2019 were Paris, Lyon, and Strasbourg. The leading choices for outbound trips in Q4 2019 were the USA (New York, Los Angeles), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona), Italy (Rome, Venice), the UK (London), Germany (Berlin, Frankfurt), Japan (Tokyo), Russia (Moscow), the Netherlands (Amsterdam), Morocco (Agadir, Casablanca). 

The preferred accommodation categories booked by French travel professionals in Q4 were 4-star hotels (47% of total Q4 bookings) and 3-star hotels (32%).

RateHawk officially launched in France in December 2018. Today it provides French travel professionals with a fully localized product as well as in-house French-speaking support.

The service sources its inventory – more than 1,3 million hotels, apartments, and hostels – from over 100 suppliers worldwide and 30,000 direct hotel contracts.

Poland Performance

The total gross booking value in Poland increased by 66% compared to Q3 2019. The total number of bookings made by Polish partners in Q4 2019 increased 20% compared to the third quarter and amounted to 9% of all Ratehawk bookings in Q4. The number of partners in Poland increased by 30% and by the end of 2019 more than 650 Polish travel professionals had been using and benefiting from the platform. The total number of RateHawk’s partners amounts to 15,000 travel professionals from over 100 countries. 

The top domestic destinations in terms of bookings made by Polish travel professionals in Q4 2019 are Warsaw, Poznan and Krakow. The leading choices for outbound trips in Q4 2019 were Germany (Berlin, Dusseldorf), the UK (London), the USA (New York), France (Paris), Belgium (Brussels), Italy (Milan, Rome), Spain (Barcelona, Madrid), China (Hong Kong, Shanghai), Sweden (Stockholm). 

The most preferred accommodation categories booked by Polish travel professionals are 4-star hotels (53% of total Q4 bookings) and 3-star hotels (30%).

RateHawk officially launched in Poland in 2018 and opened an office in Warsaw In December 2019. RateHawk provides Polish travel professionals with a fully localized product as well as inhouse Polish-speaking support and accepts Polish Zloty as a processing currency. In February 2020, RateHawk became a member of the Polish Chamber of Tourism.

Turkey Performance

The total number of bookings made by Turkish partners increased by 10% compared to the third quarter and amounted to 10% of all Ratehawk bookings in Q4.  The number of partners in Turkey increased by 22% by the end of Q4 compared to Q3 2019. By the end of 2019 more than 1200 Turkish travel professionals had been using the platform. The total number of RateHawk’s partners amounts to 15,000 travel professionals from over 100 countries. 

The top domestic destinations in terms of bookings made by Turkish travel professionals in Q4 2019 were Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya. The leading choices for outbound trips in Q4 2019 were Germany (Frankfurt, Berlin, Dusseldorf), France (Paris), Italy (Milan, Rome), the Netherlands (Amsterdam), the USA (New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco), the UK (London), the UAE (Dubai), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona), Russia (Moscow). 

The preferred accommodation categories booked by Turkish travel professionals in Q4 were 4-star hotels (48% of total Q4 bookings) and 5-star hotels (24%), followed by 3-star hotels (22%).

Italy Performance

The total gross booking value in Italy increased by 35% compared to Q3 2019. The number of partners in Italy increased by 47% by the end of Q4 2019, and the total number of bookings made by Italian partners increased 47% compared to the third quarter. By the end of 2019 more than 1300 Italian travel professionals had been using the platform. The total number of RateHawk’s partners amounts to 15,000 travel professionals from over 100 countries.

The leading choices for outbound trips in Q4 2019 were the USA (New York), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona), France (Paris), the UK (London), the UAE (Dubai), Germany (Berlin, Munich), China (Shanghai), Austria (Vienna), Thailand (Bangkok). 

The preferred accommodation categories booked by Italian travel professionals in Q4 were 4-star hotels (46% of total Q4 bookings) and 3-star hotels (27%).

Hungary Performance

The total gross booking value in Hungary increased by 34% compared to Q3 2019. The total number of bookings made by Hungarian partners in Q4 2019 increased 50% compared to the third quarter. The number of partners in Hungary almost doubled YoY and by the end of 2019 more than 300 Hungarian travel professionals had been using and benefiting from the platform. The total number of RateHawk’s partners amounts to 15,000 travel professionals from over 100 countries. 

The top domestic destination in terms of bookings made by Hungarian travel professionals in Q4 2019 is Budapest. The leading choices for outbound trips in Q4 2019 were the USA (New York, Las Vegas), Germany (Berlin, Munich), Spain (Barcelona, Madrid), Belgium (Brussels), Italy (Rome, Milan), the UK (London), Austria (Vienna), France (Paris), the UAE (Dubai). 

The most preferred accommodation categories booked by Hungarian travel professionals are 4-star hotels (49% of total Q4 bookings) and 3-star hotels (27%).

Bulgaria Performance

The total number of bookings made by Bulgarian partners in 2019 more than doubled compared to 2018. The number of partners in Bulgaria increased by 84% YoY. By the end of 2019 more than 500 Bulgarian travel professionals had been using the platform. The total number of RateHawk’s partners amounts to 15,000 travel professionals from over 100 countries. 

The top domestic destinations in terms of bookings made by Bulgarian travel professionals in 2019 were Sofia, Bansko and Varna. The leading choices for outbound trips in Q4 2019 were Germany (Munich, Dusseldorf, Cologne), Italy (Milan, Rome), Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona), the UK (London), Greece (Athens, Thessaloniki), France (Paris), Turkey (Istanbul), the USA (New York). 

The preferred accommodation categories booked by Bulgarian travel professionals in 2019 were 4-star hotels (44% of total Q4 bookings) and 3-star hotels (26%), followed by 5-star hotels (22%).

Serbia Performance

The total gross booking value in Serbia increased 35% compared to Q3 2019. The total number of bookings made by Serbian partners increased 30% compared to the third quarter. By the end of 2019 more than 300 Serbian travel professionals had been using the platform. The total number of RateHawk’s partners amounts to 15,000 travel professionals from over 100 countries. 

The leading choices for outbound trips in terms of bookings made by Serbian travel professionals in Q4 2019 were Italy (Milan, Rome), Germany (Berlin), the UK (London), Spain (Barcelona), Austria (Vienna), France (Paris), Greece (Athens), Thailand (Phuket), the UAE (Dubai), the USA (New York).

The preferred accommodation categories booked by Serbian travel professionals in Q4 were 4-star hotels (49% of total Q4 bookings) and 3-star hotels (25%).

RateHawk officially launched in Serbia in 2018. In 2019 the platform was localized into Serbian language. RateHawk provides Serbian travel professionals with an inhouse Serbian-speaking support.
