Update your password regularly
Changing your passwords regularly is a key security measure in information security. It helps lower the risk of unauthorized access to computer systems and data.
We recommend periodically updating the password to access your account — for example, once a month. Simply set a reminder and change your password.
We suggest following the security indicator:
- Red — you need to make your password more complex;
- Green — your password is complex enough, with intermediate statuses you can use as a reference.
How to change your password:
- On the website: Click on your email address in the upper right corner, select “Settings,” and scroll down to “Change password.” Enter your current password, then create a new one. The system will assess how secure it is. If you don’t remember your current password, simply click “Forgot password,” wait for an email, and follow the password recovery procedure.
- In the mobile app: Tap the three dots in the lower right corner of the screen, click on your email address, select “Change password,” enter your current combination, then the new one, and confirm the changes.
Protect your personal data
Scammers trying to get your personal info might pretend to be someone from your contacts or ask about online transactions you’ve really made, making you think you’re chatting with a legitimate representative from a company or service. They might even set up fake email addresses and use real company names to pull it off.
To avoid falling for a scam, we recommend checking the following points:
- Company and brand name: “RateHawk” as a brand and “ratehawk.com” as a website address are the only correct ones. If you are directed to a website that looks like ours but has a mistake in spelling (e.g., rhawk.com, ratehawkk.com, newratehawk.com), it’s not a legitimate source — it’s a scam. If you visit such a website, we highly recommend changing all your passwords, including your RateHawk account. In this case, enabled 2FA can be a lifesaver and prevent scammers from accessing your data.
- Sender’s address: RateHawk employees write from the @ratehawk.com domain; order confirmations and newsletters come from [email protected]. Any other address is not associated with our service.
- Suspicious attachments: Never follow links or open/download files attached to emails from unknown senders.
- Sharing your login and password: RateHawk support specialists do not need this information to assist you. To verify details, they will only need your booking number or phone number.
If you receive an email or call that seems to be from RateHawk requesting login information, do not respond. Instead, report the incident to your account manager immediately.
Follow official RateHawk channels and groups
Unfortunately, any user can create a brand page on social media or a group in a messaging app, and scammers actively exploit this. They lure users in with attractive discounts, special offers, and exclusive services, then collect their personal information.
The good news is that you can easily protect yourself from such communities:
1. Ignore private chats or groups in messaging apps: If you’ve been added to a themed chat in WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, supposedly created on behalf of RateHawk, offering exclusive booking discounts for select partners, special promo codes, or other promotions, this is the work of scammers. The RateHawk team never creates groups in messaging apps to notify partners about promotions or special offers.
2. Use official sources for company information: You can always find out about current promotions through the following ways:
- Facebook and LinkedIn pages: These are links to our official communities. Ensure you are subscribed to the correct pages.
- The newsletter you receive at the email address linked to your personal account. The newsletter comes from the [email protected] domain.
- RateHawk blog, where you can find the latest product updates and ongoing promotional campaigns.
3. Your account manager, who can answer any questions, whether they’re about promotions, product features, or other inquiries.
Being at the forefront of technological progress is not only an honor but also a responsibility. Security tools have always been, and will continue to be, an important area to which we pay close attention.
If you encounter scammers or notice misuse of the RateHawk brand online, please inform your account manager. By staying vigilant and attentive, we will leave no chance for fraudsters!
